On Monday, May 28th, at 11am, members from the Hawthorne Fire Department attended the Memorial Day Ceremony in front of Borough Hall to pay tribute to the men and women of the armed forces who died in our nation’s defense. The department placed wreaths at the front of the Memorial monument along Lafayette Ave. The day continued as the department participated in the Memorial Day Parade that traveled through the streets of Hawthorne that included marching bands, veterans, local police, emergency services, local businesses, Scouts, military and more in the patriotic procession which paid homage to those who fell in the service of the United States.
