Through the course of five years beginning in 2011 the Departments training center has undergone a transitional rebuild. The departments membership provided funding which was raised by the membership and regional donations to advance the facility to a state approved training facility. In 2015 the Hawthorne Fire Department was joined by the Glen Rock Fire Department to increase funding and provide additional advancement to the facility in a co-operative venture. The facility will continue growing as plans are to add a third floor this fall providing a bail out simulator and additional search area for training. Assistant Chief Joseph Longo is the facility coordinator spearheading much of the facilities design and use as well as maintaining the needs of the center.
